The ABC’s of Coaching:

Many wonder what the difference is between coaching and psychology.  The difference is simple- coaching helps you achieve your goals and make changes necessary.  It enables you to take action and free you from constraints and fears.  Coaching focuses on the present and the future.  Psychology helps in healing deep rooted issues sometimes carried throughout life from childhood or teenage years.  It focuses on the past to help individuals move into the current or the future.  Psychology becomes more involved with deep emotional issues and traumas.
The “initial 10 minute” session is free.  During this discussion you will discover how coaching can assist with you.  Once a client, the “Discovery session” is when the coach and the client become familiar with one another.  Backgrounds, concerns and goals are discussed.  Timelines are usually established, although not necessary, as to how long the process will take.  There are no formal commitments as the “coaching process” can be life long or 2-4 sessions long. Sessions can also be provided as an “as-needed” basis depending on the situation.  Typically, the sessions can be accommodated on a bi-weekly basis or on a monthly basis.  Sessions usually last 30 minutes although 45- and 60- minute sessions can be provided.
